Introduction to Yoga & Better Posture with Kathleen Gallen

Recent Workshops

Finding Your Balance Through Posture - December 21,  2011 @ 5:30- 7:00 pm   $15

  • A practical workshop focused on the mindful physical practice of finding balance through effective posture. This one and half hour workshop will teach students how to align their bones naturally through balanced sitting, standing, bending, & walking. This will benefit those who suffer from aches and pains related to desk work, and also that resulting from repetitive physical work or injury.
  • Stand taller, reduce or eliminate pain.
  • Learn how to relax and restore and find balance in your everyday life.
  • You will  be guided into a deeper experience of the body’s restorative powers without strain.
  • All physical levels and ages welcome. 

Yoga for Back Care ($12 Drop-in) – October 29th, 2011 @ 10-11:45 am Venue: Gallen Massage & Yoga

  • This class was designed to help build a safe home Yoga practice for back care.
  • Participants learn how to reduce or eliminate back pain and develop your own yoga practice at home
  • No experience was required. Suitable for All levels.

Yin Yoga - August 27,  2011 @ 10-11:45 am   Venue: Island Yoga, Anna Maria Island

  • Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and joints of the body.
  • A perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles.
  • Poses are generally held for a longer duration than Yang poses with a deep focus on Breath.
  • Suitable for all levels.

Five Week Series on Saturdays From June 18th through July 16th 2011 @ 10.30-11.45am – Venue Palmetto Art Center.

Bring your mind, body & spirit into balance throughout your day. Learn how to develop your own self-care practice through breath work, massage, posture awareness & restorative yoga poses. Kathleen blends both her knowledge & personal experience from massage & yoga studies to integrate fun, interesting & time efficient self-care practices into our busy lives. All levels welcome.

Self Care with Kathleen Gallen at Palmetto Art Center December 17, 2010 @ 6-7.30pm

Focusing on balancing mind, body & spirit throughout your day. Kathleen taught students to develop their own self-care practice through breath work, massage, posture awareness & restorative yoga poses.  Kathleen drew from her yoga and massage studies and personal experience to integrate fun, interesting and time efficient self-care practices into a routine for our busy lives.
